DISCLAIMER! This is the review of the 12th chapter of this manga. By being a review of a single chapter it can contain various SPOILERS. Read at your discretion.

After seeing our poor (now even more) protagonist losing tons of money we can see how the picture that was taken during the last chapter was used. Luckily it makes sense; I was worried that they could ruin the story a bit by adding something really unrealistic.

I was facepalming so hard in the scene where the key falls; really I was wondering how he could be so unlucky. The dog barking really generated some high tension in the following scenes… especially with that ending!

  1. This is a broader question than strictly for this chapter. So it might be complicated, or not 😀

Before I started following you, I’d never seen anyone review a manga on a chapter by chapter basis. Once I started checking out some of the people who you follow and who follow you, I see that is a standard “thing” in the wordpress community. The same goes for anime and the episode review.

My question is, do you know the thought process behind doing it chapter by chapter as opposed to a whole volume? More specifically, what is YOUR thought process? Do you do that for a specific reason or just because you’ve seen others do it? I’m genuinely curious about the broad generalities AND your specifics.

Any light you can shed on the matter would be appreciated. Thanks! 🙂

    • I think that the chapter by chapter and episode by episode parts is more related to the fact that this is how the two media are released for the first time: weekly episodes for the anime and weekly/monthly chapter for the manga.

For my case I’m mostly doing full-anime and chapter by chapter manga because I’m creating this reviews for two different motivations. For the anime I want to make a “real” review where I express my likings and critiques on a full anime/season, For manga was, more the wanting to only write a review, posting to look for other people there are reading them and want to commentate the new chapters with me.
Also the three manga I’m reviewing in this period (My Dearest Self With Malice Aforethought, Hell Dogs, Destroy All Humanity) are quite niche ones and I don’t think are published outside of Japan; so it also get harder to find a full volume and retrieving the single chapter is easier.

Don’t know if I fully answered your questions

      • That is perfect actually. You gave me the broad answer and the specific.

I keep forgetting that most stuff IS released that way in Japan. Here in the States we get whole seasons now, or whole volumes. Probably the hardcore enthusiasts go to sub sites to get their episode fix though 😀

Thanks for explaining about your own specific motivations.

Keep up the good work 😀
